Be an Ambassador!

Mark your calendar on Saturday April 26 for Teen Lit Con! We are calling out to teachers, media specialists, public librarians, and book lovers to help us out. Teen Lit Con will be at Edina High School for a fun-filled extravaganza, and we need YOU to make this day a success for our teens.

Please read all the information here and on the sign up form (link below) before volunteering. Things have changed for those of you coming back to TLC for more fun.

Our volunteers, called Ambassadors, fill many vital roles; they may help in the auditorium, hallways, at breakout sessions, & in the exhibit hall with hands-on activities & book signings, and more!

Adults only, please. We want teens to fully experience the con.

Each Ambassador will receive a Teen Lit Con t-shirt! There will be an Ambassador Lounge with beverages & snacks that you may use between shifts.

MELSA member library staff please note: When serving as a Public Library Ambassador you are representing your library system and therefore, MELSA understands you are on work time and have obtained permission to participate from your supervisor.

Two set up shifts have been added—you can volunteer for these and a regular Saturday shift. Friday set up is 1pm-4pm. Saturday morning set up is 8:30-noon. See form for possible duties. Saturday shifts are All Day (10am-4pm), Saturday morning (10am-1pm), & Saturday afternoon (1pm-4pm). All Day Ambassadors receive a free lunch.

The form gives us the information we need to create the volunteer schedule. You will receive a confirmation of your registration when you complete the form. The form will close when we reach the number of volunteers we need.

This is a long process—there are 90+ volunteers to place in dozens & dozens of jobs. This is a moving target as people drop or change their commitments to TLC. To make this more manageable for Metronet staff that places volunteers, we will use a website (example only!) as we did last year.

Please do not ask about your schedule unless you need to change or cancel once you have completed the form—what is true today may change tomorrow!

You will hear from us next around one week before the event when the Ambassador website opens. You will find your schedule there. We will be using the TLC2025 Ambassador website to keep you informed of your schedule and other TLC info.
