TLC Code of Conduct

Teen Lit Con welcomes attendees and participants of all genders, gender identities, and expressions, sexual orientations, ages, abilities, physical appearances, body sizes, races/ethnicities, and religions to engage with Young Adult literature and ideas. Teen Lit Con is designed for teenage attendees to explore literature written for them and their own creative abilities, as such their experience of the day is our priority, it is expected that all attendees will respect and abide by this philosophy as well.

Teen Lit Con is dedicated to providing a safe environment free of harassment, discrimination, and threatening or disrespectful behavior of any kind for all of our attendees which includes, but is not limited to, members of the general public, authors, industry professionals, moderators, presenters, exhibitors, volunteers, and media.

Teen Lit Con has a zero-tolerance policy against harassment in any form and reserves the right to remove from any Teen Lit Con event those who engage in harassing behavior including but not limited to unwanted advances, stalking, verbal threats, inappropriate statements or gestures, sustained disruption of speakers, and disrespectful comments that go beyond the boundaries of civil disagreement and civic discourse. This may include remarks or actions that target people based on certain characteristics that include but are not limited to race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or disability status.

Twin Cities Teen Lit Con has a no-solicitation policy covering all of our conferences and expositions. In order to provide a distraction-free environment for our attendees, presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, and employees, we do not allow solicitation at our events by attendees or unauthorized parties without the express permission of Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA).
